Tropical storm Beryl, is expected to bring heavy rain, dangerous winds, and life-threatening storm surge to the Windward Islands, the southern part of the Lesser Antilles island group in the Caribbean Sea, starting Sunday night. Beryl is predicted to hit the islands as at least a Category 3 hurricane.As of Saturday evening, Beryl was about 700 miles east-southeast of Barbados and moving west at about 22 mph. Maximum sustained winds neared 80 mph. The storm is expected to rapidly intensify into a major hurricane. Expected rainfall totals are 3 to 6 inches across Barbados and the Windward Islands, which could cause flooding in vulnerable areas.
