Last Updated: July 09, 2024, 11:30 ISTWe might see the biggest Apple Watch design upgrade this yearApple Watch Series 10 is expected to be one of the biggest design upgrades and taking cues from the Ultra won’t be the worst move.Ahead of Apple’s September launch, a new report sheds light on features of the upcoming Apple Watch Series 10. It is believed to have a substantially larger display than its predecessor, the Series 9. According to the Bloomberg report by Mark Gurman, the Series 10, which is likely to be released in September 2024, will be available in two size variants, internally coded N217 and N218, with one featuring a larger screen. The screen size of the Apple Watch Series 10 is expected to be larger than that of the Apple Watch Ultra 2, so far the largest smartwatch at 49mm and a 1.92-inch display.According to recent computer-aided design (CAD) render leaks, the Series 10 could include a 2-inch display, which would provide a significant boost in screen space.Meanwhile, reports state that the Series 10 is believed to be powered by the same CPU as the third-generation Apple Watch Ultra. While no immediate AI-driven features are planned, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman speculates that the new processor may pave the way for future advances in artificial intelligence capabilities inside Apple’s smartwatch lineup.Despite advancements in health monitoring technology, the Series 10 is unlikely to have sleep apnea and blood pressure monitoring at launch. Furthermore, Apple experienced considerable development challenges, particularly with the blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitoring component, which is still disabled due to regulatory problems in the United States.Likewise, tests revealed that hypertension detection was less reliable than expected. As a result, Apple may postpone the distribution of these functionalities in favour of displaying blood pressure trends rather than providing accurate measurements.Apple is apparently working on a new version of the Apple Watch SE to compete with Samsung’s recently announced Galaxy Watch FE, which costs $199 (roughly Rs 16,600). This new SE variant is rumoured to have a plastic body rather than the standard aluminium shell, potentially decreasing the price.Apple last upgraded the Watch SE in 2022, and the latest edition could be released later this year. Before their expected official launch, more information regarding these new watches is probably going to come to light in the upcoming weeks as Apple keeps pushing the boundaries of smartwatch innovation.S AadeetyaS Aadeetya, Special Correspondent at News18 Tech, accidentally got into journalism 10 years ago, and since then, has been part of established media ho…Read More
