FIRST-TIME APPLICANTS
First-time applicants are those who have never had a Food Handler Card or Health Card in Clark County, NV.

In-Person TestingFirst-time applicants will need to schedule an appointment or walk in to take the food safety test in person at one of our locations.
Online TestingThe Health District does not offer online testing for first-time applicants. Testing must be done at an SNHD office.

The first-time test consists of 20 multiple-choice questions. A passing score is 70% or better. After passing the test, the $20 card fee will be collected, and the three-year Food Handler Card will be issued. Valid identification that adheres to our ID policy must be presented for in-person testing.
Important: Due to space limitations, only the test applicant is permitted to enter. No children, family members or friends will be admitted.
