Composer David Lowe has explained how he created the BBC News theme, starting with a clock ticking one beat per second. Mr Lowe published a video showing how the different tracks work together, to mark the 25th anniversary of its creation. The theme went viral during the pandemic, after TikTok creator Rachel Leary raved to the music in a video that was viewed millions of times across social media.
