According to WABetaInfo, the feature is currently in the testing phase and will be available in the upcoming months. The new feature will allow users to quickly respond to media content, including photographs, videos, and GIFs, without leaving the viewer’s screen, making it quicker and more convenient to interact.Currently, to react on WhatsApp, the users need to press the message or the media file for a few seconds after which the app opens an array of reactions to choose from, which is quite time-consuming. However, the introduction of this new feature will significantly enhance the reaction process. The double-tap feature speeds up communication by letting the user react to a message with a default heart emoticon. However, it is still unknown whether the feature will come with a disable option or not. Also, the company has still not announced when the double-tap feature will roll out for all WhatsApp users. It is likely to be out in the upcoming update.Apart from this, WhatsApp is working on several other Instagram-like features to meet the user’s demand. Recently it was reported that the popular messaging app is working on a new feature that allows users to reshare status updates in which they’ve been mentioned. This means, just like Instagram, when your friend mentions you on their stories, you can re-share the post on your status too with your contacts. This feature is also currently in the development phase and is likely to roll out for all WhatsApp users in the forthcoming update. In other news, the Meta-owned app is also working on a file-sharing feature that will enable users to share files between Android to iOS wirelessly and also without using the internet. The functionality was recently discovered in the iOS beta version of WhatsApp, which appears to include a new tool called Nearby Share. The feature allows users to share all media content, documents, pictures, videos and other items via Wi-Fi Direct, which works between two iPhone users as well as those who own both an Android and an iPhone.S AadeetyaS Aadeetya, Special Correspondent at News18 Tech, accidentally got into journalism 10 years ago, and since then, has been part of established media ho…Read More
