A 33-year-old virgin says there’s “nothing wrong” with being a late bloomer and insists it’s quite common for Millennials to have never done the deed.

Lauren Harkins made the claim in an interview with Southwest News Service, revealing religion wasn’t the reason why she’s remained chaste.

“I’m a virgin but I’m not a traditional, usually it’s one or the other but I’m just very content on my own,” the Portland, Maine resident stated.

“The twenties is such a confusing time, everyone is figuring out careers and navigating all this stuff — it just wasn’t something I wanted,” she further said of sex.

As any only child, Harkins learned early on how to be content on her own and never actively pursued a relationship.

And while her friends navigated the ups and downs of young love, Harkins was dealing with the death of her father, William, who passed away when she was a teenager.

Harkins now lives primarily off her late dad’s trust fund and has enjoyed an action-packed life of travel and adventure, saying sex simply wasn’t a priority.

“Recently I’ve been to Morocco, Peru, Cayman Islands, Bahamas, France, Germany and the Netherlands, I love immersing myself in new cultures,” she enthused.

“I think it’s important to have high standards in everything — romantically and otherwise,” the intrepid traveler declared.

Harkins says she hopes that speaking about her sexless life will break down the stigma surrounding adult virgins.

“I have hundreds of messages from people in similar situations, so I feel like I’m helping people,” she told Southwest News Service.

“I am of sound mind and body, I’m not socially awkward or repressed, and quite normal despite my unique lifestyle,” she continued.

“I’m just a late bloomer – it doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with me.”
